Hi, she said.
You're right, she smiled.
It's a self-portrait, she confirmed.
And I promise that it will be the only one, she promised.
She said so on a rainy spring day
That happened back in May.
Then came summer and with that
Came summer rains.
Now tell me, what kind of rainy summer day is that
Without a self-portrait, she asked.
And she was right. No rainy day should pass
Without a self-portrait.
I’ll tell you more, I’m truly glad
She broke her own promise. smile
iris: Well, thanks for making that clear, Viktor smile
super comment for Victor i must say. Absolutely love this iris a sheer delight of a self portrait, top stuffsmile
iris: wink yes, Viktor's comment is pretty amusing, i can hardly stop smiling smile
well, maybe i'm going to break that promise again, as i have some ideas i would like to put into practice and i haven't the courage yet to ask someone else to pose for me smile

"Long as endless son, the long rain
Endlessly, through the gray day,
Line the green tiles with his long gray son,
Infinitely, rain,
The long rain,
Rain."

A beautiful B & W
iris: Wow, Mathilde, I really love your take on this! Thanks so much!

Definitely a promise that should have been broken - and should be again!
iris: smile Happy, you think so, Paul smile

A very lovely portrait, Iris.
Some promises are meant to be broken. smile
iris: Thanks so much, Suzanne smile
Well, generally I keep my promises, so I wasn't sure about posting this one. But then I thought, nobody would get hurt smile
There feels like some motion to this image, is it due to the lens you used?
Good portrait too.
iris: Thank you, Nigel! smile
Well, I was surprised myself about this kind of motion. I used a Canon 50mm f/1.8 II lens and simply shot through the window. I guess it's just the reflection of the droplets that causes this effect.
Magnifique photo!
