superbe cette composition !
iris: Alors, je suis contente que la compo vous plaise. Merci bien, Rem. smile
You've created an own style. Very fine comp and postprocessing. Greetings, Iris.
iris: I just try to follow my senses, to pave my way through the branches. smile
Thank you, Toni, and have a good day today.
Have you scared someone awaysmile I like difference in contrast.
iris: Haaha.. smile Oh my.. I haven't seen it that way before.. actually the person is facing us, but looking at it now one could think indeed that she's running away. Thanks for this new perspective, Nigel. smile
I see the Shadow on top of the branches and branches casting shadow over the Shadow.

It could be a trap. It can also be an embrace (and that can be a trap).

How long are you going to keep him there?
iris: Pekka, I really like what you see here and I'm grateful to you for sharing your thoughts. You're so right, at times an embrace can be a trap. And it's not easy to disenthrall oneself without hurting the other one.
Here in this case the branches are not supposed to trap someone. In fact they are a metaphor for the diversity of the roads that life provides. And I think we should embrace the opportunity to be able to grow in every direction we want - just like a tree. Only then we'll be rich and strong.

So.. I do not intend to keep anybody smile Quite the contrary smile
Very stylish and thought provoking. (:o)
iris: Thought provoking - ah, that's the biggest compliment you could make, Rosalyn. Seriously. Thank you so much.
And I'd really love to hear your thoughts smile
I feel the person wants his soul to expand but the branches are placed in his way, now he has to work out how to get through them. Its a super picture Iris smile
iris: I like the way you feel, Linda, and I'm glad that you share it with me. smile
Yes, at times we are so tangled up in the branches of life, that even if we are willing to expand, we have to make quite an effort to get through the thicket. We might get some scratches but the increase of experience will surely enrich our lives. smile

Without your title I would have seen something very different. I might have titled this 'Despair'

Whichever way you see it, its a thought-provoking and well-executed image
iris: Indeed.. "Despair" would be the exact opposite of what I had in mind. But I see where you're coming from.
It really fascinates me, how different the perceptions can be sometimes and I like that a lot. Thank you for sharing yours, Paul.
Â…going through the fog of her illusions
half blinded, disoriented
she doesnÂ’t know what the thorns of life
will bring her: the agonizing pain
or the delightful pleasureÂ…
or maybe both
iris: ...content with whichever will come
she welcomes both pleasure and pain
as pain is her teacher and pleasure her guide
who show her the way through the fog to the light...
Fascinating image, Iris. I didn't see the shadow at first. Shadows are like that, soulful in ways that are not always obvious. smile In the brambles of the branches, she finds her way....
iris: Soulful shadows.. indeed, one can find deep feelings hidden in the shadows. And if we manage to become friends with them, we'll be able to live a soulful life smile
wow, incredible! i love how the background really draws the eye. nice done grin
iris: Thanks, Charles. smile And welcome back. smile

In afrikaans we have an expression that translates to: being through the leaves. The expression applies to a scatter-brained person.

Another expression translates to being high in the branches. It will apply to someone drunk.

Branching out: extending to new business areas (geographical or type). This can lead to the soul expanding, but more likely the result will be an expanding/shrinking purse.

OK, jokes aside. To me this is an excellent picture. The shadow seems to be experiencing a revelation of some kind.
iris: Well.. one thing is for sure: I experienced a revelation when I read your lines, Louis smile And I thank you for that.
I find it amazing how inspiring branches and leaves seem to be. And I smiled about the expression "being through the leaves", because the sound of the wind rushing through the leaves always makes me think of scattered messages, that are swirling around.

Another beautiful composition.

Thank you for looking at the web site. It's going to be updated soon. It's been neglected for 4 years.

If you look at my blog it's updated with more current work almost everyday. I haven't had time to update the web site until now because I'm publishing a book in Japan. I've been shooting it for 3 years. Finally coming out in July 2011.

iris: Thanks once again, Paule.
I just read about your exhibition "From Above". A very touching project.
I'll keep watching your blog.
brilliantly thought out and executed irissmile
iris: It fills my heart with joy that you think so, Tim smile

This is another so sensible image, Iris, for me a bit painful but for sure very, very beautiful! I love everything about it! Exquisite work!
iris: It was for me as well, Codrin. Until I found a reason and an answer and a way for my soul to expand. Multumesc mult, Codrin! You know how much your words mean to me.
Your world is absolutely mesmerizing. Thank you so much for your kind comment on my blog last week and for leading me to yours.
iris: Diane, and it's me who'd like to thank you again for sharing those special moments you find all around you on your daily walks.
